Madhu Chopra Reveals Priyanka Chopra’s Challenges During Bajirao Mastani; Says, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali Is Not An Easy…”

Miss World in 2000 and global icon Priyanka Chopra has completed almost two decades in the industry. She is one of the well-known faces who has carved her niche globally. Priyanka’s portrayal as Kashibai in Bajirao Mastani is one of her finest roles to date. Recently, her mother Madhu Chopra spilled the beans on why it has been one of the most challenging films for the actress.

Madhu Chopra Says, Kashibai Was Hard Because There Were Tight Shots

In an interview with Lehren, Madhu Chopra revealed that her daughter’s performance in Barfi and Bajirao Mastani are her favourite. She also went on to reveal why Bajirao Mastani was very hard for the actress.

She said, “Kashibai was very hard because there were tight shots, and it was all on the face. The expressions were everything. Sanjay [Leela] Bhansali is not an easy director, and to keep him pleased in the sense that he is satisfied with the performance… that was the target. That was something she was very focused on. There were no distractions, she would not even talk inside her van during that time.”

Bajirao Mastani is a historical epic that follows the love story of Maratha warrior Peshwa Bajirao and his second wife, Mastani, a fierce warrior-princess. Their passionate romance faces intense opposition from society and Bajirao’s first wife, Kashibai, leading to a tale of love, war, and sacrifice.

The film starred Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. It is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and produced by Bhansali Productions, Amber Entertainment and Eros International.

On the work front, PeeCee was last seen in the Bollywood film The Sky Is Pink. She is reportedly all set to make her comeback with SS Rajamouli’s Telugu film with Mahesh Babu. The movie will be dubbed and released in multiple languages.
